Can Blackview Phones work in the United States? (AT&T/Verizon/T-Mobile)

Overview

Our Blackview devices have been tested and confirmed to work with the major US carriers - AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and all the sub carriers under the same frequency bands(Cricket, Straighttalk, MetroPCS, Mint, etc). Our consumers have had no trouble activating their Blackview devices on these carriers, up until recently.

We have received reports from some of our consumers that they are having difficulties activating their rugged phones. The issue mostly comes with the activation from CDMA carriers like Verizon, Sprint, and Cricket Wireless. This is likely partly because the US carriers are now starting to phase out the 2G/3G connectivity.

So before buying a Blackview device, you need to make sure that you are using a sim card from a GSM carrier, or a 4G/LTE capable sim card from a CDMA network.

Carriers that are highly recommended right now: AT&T, T-mobile, GSM straight talk, GSM tracfone, GSM Pix, H20, ting, Mint, Lycamobile, Walmart Familial, FreedomPop, Net10, Consumer Cellular, GSM Republic, MetroPCS, and other SIM cards runs on GSM networks..

Carriers that are not recommended right now but will still likely work through 4G network: Verizon, Sprint, Cricket Wireless, CDMA Straight Talk, CDMA Tracfone, CDMA NET10, Boost Mobile, Q Link, Total Wireless, xfinity, Republic Wireless, Hello Mobile, and other SIM cards runs on CDMA networks.

Not all Blackview devices are FCC-certified.

Blackview has been known to produce the most durable outdoor rugged smartphones. It has been enjoyed by many people around the globe, mostly in countries that utilize the GSM network. However, there are still other countries that use network frequency bands that are not supported by most of these devices. In the United States, the carrier Verizon still utilizes the CDMA frequency.

We at SWT International know the limitations the users can experience through their chosen carriers in the United States and this is why we have decided to only list devices with FCC certification. Devices that can work even on Verizon.

Back when we first launched in late 2020, the total phone we’ve listed were already a total of eight(8) devices. All of which worked and activated well on AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and their subcarrier brands(Straighttalk, Cricket Wireless, Consumer Cellular, Mint Mobile, etc.) and they all work great on 4G/LTE network with VoLTE and HD Voice enabled. Only SOME Blackview phones have the 3G and 4G bands to work in the USA.
HD Voice is required for phones as 2G and 3G networks are being retired.
Not all carriers are welcoming on BYOD Phones.

In short, we have tested BV5100 on AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile and have verified that the phone works great with these two major USA carriers.

AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon and the device works pretty well especially on the 4G/LTE Network.

AT&T AND VERIZON ACTIVATION UPDATE

Please be warned that AT&T and Verizon will be phasing out 2G and 3G connectivity in a couple of years. Because of this, they have made some big adjustments with activations. Some of the tier 1 reps from ATT or Verizon might tell you that your Blackview phone will only run 3G - which is completely not true.

A few of our ATT and Verizon users reported having the same experience but they were able to resolve the issue eventually. Some of these reps just either don't know what to do, or they are mandated to not activate unlocked phones, for some reason. But one thing's certain - Our phones DO WORK GREAT on the ATT 2G/3G/4G networks and Verizon's 4G network.

Blackview Gyro Calibration

GYRO CALIBRATION
Note that Blackview device navigation supports GPS+GLONASS+BEIDOU.
There is no option to choose which to use.
Depending on your current location, your googlemaps or any other map app will automatically detect and choose which one to use.
There are 35 BeiDou satellites, 31 GPS and 24 GLONASS satellites currently in orbit.
How to access Gyro Calibration Tool:
1: You will need a credit card for covering the proximity sensor (as shown in Video)
2: Turn on the device
3: Go to Call App
4: Enter engineering code *#87#
5: Select MMI1
6: Select Single Test
7: Scroll down the menu and select Gyro Calibration to start calibration.
8: Please make sure that the phone stays on horizontal plane during the calibration process without any movement.
